Apilco France Yves Deshoulieres Vintage Espresso Cup and Saucer (Set of 2)

Description

Unique pair of cup and saucer sets by Apilco France from the Yves Deshoulieres series. These espresso cups are restaurant grade porcelain and are elegantly minimalist in white with green and yellow/gold stripe around the cup and saucer edges with a single yellow/gold pineapple motif on each piece. The pineapple was once considered a rare delicacy and when served was the ultimate symbol of hospitality extended by the hostess. As the fruit became accessible, the pineapple motif remained as a welcoming decorative accent and housewarming gift to bestow luck.
These pieces are in very good condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The accents show minimal to no wear.
