Description
Chrysanthemum is a member of the sunflower family and has a long history of use in Japan. It has been brewed in tea since the 8th century and is the emblem of the Emperor today.In China the flowers are boiled to make a sweet tea called júhuā chá. in Korea they are used to flavor rice wine.
Practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) use Chrysanthemum. It is said to be a cooling herb, and used to calm the liver.
Uses:
- Brew in tea and tea blends.
- Use in potpourri arrangements.
- Include in sachets, bath soaks, dream pillows.
- Use as a decorative for soaps and other products.
- May be tinctured or infused for compresses and topical uses.
