E.A.T B-Sharp Turntable w/Ortofon Blue MM Cartridge

Purchased this beauty from a dealer on Ebay on 9/20/20 as a new/demo w/low hours.   After finally completing my system (7/4/21) I fired up the TT and noticed a hum. Just so I am transparent I have hooked up the ground wire to my pre-amp phono stage and still there was an audible hum.  Also noticed that the lever that lifts the arm sometimes will not stay up and automatically come down.  I don't know if there is something I'm doing wrong or not.   All of my previous history w/TT's were w/Rega's and I nver had an issue w/an audible hum but then again Rega doesnt use a ground wire either so once again I dont know whether its me or the TT.   This is a 95 TT when purchased new so my starting price of 0 is more than generous w/no reserve. I will consider a local sale but I will also consider to ship it as well.  I have all of the accessories w/the original box.  The box is got some wear on it so its not perfect.  Therefore I will double box and insure the package w/FedEx.  Any questions, please let me know.
Came with the Ortofon Blue MM .  I dont recall what amount the low hours were from the dealer as it was 9 months ago.
