Experience in North Africa led the US Army to develop the revolutionary M-1943 field uniform. The "patrol" cap for the ensemble was crafted of wind/rain resistant OD cotton poplin, comfortable enough for long periods of wear, but tough enough to withstand the rigors of combat. This US Army WW2 M-1943 "PATROL" CAP is in excellent condition, with a light even fade, a small spot of dark soiling at the middle right back, a bit of whitish soiling at the underside of the front bill, missing the nomenclature tag from the inside, and with some light scattered age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the cap is in excellent shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or other damage to the crisp OD 100% cotton poplin construction. Most interestingly, it's a Size 7 1/4, boasts the classic OD "blanket" wool lined fold down ear/neck flap, and sports two metal ventilation grommets at each side of the crown.
