WWII M4A2 USAAF Flying personnel flak helmet. Very nice.

Description

M4A2 USAAF Flying personnel anti-flak helmet. This was the final iteration of this style helmet designed specifically for bomber crews. Interestingly, because these were made for working in tight spaces like gun turrets etc., tankers also found these very suitable. And, like their aviator brothers, the rear snap straps on the M4A4 held the tankers' goggles in place. The last photo actually shows a crew of tankers wearing these (not included). The helmet is nice. At the extreme end of the long strap there is a litte damage to the leather, and a couple small areas of very minor fraying on the extreme bottom edge of one of the ear flaps that are invisble when displayed.  But, other than that, what a great example. Label is clean and bold. The metal chinstrap hardware is clean and nice. A great display example.
