    Description

    This is a nice World War II U.S. Marine Corps P44 Utility Cap that remains in very good condition. It is constructed of green herringbone twill material that has now faded to a pale green color. There are two metal green enameled air vent grommets on either side of the cap. Lightly stenciled to the front is an eagle, globe, and anchor insignia with an unfouled anchor. Below this is a clutch back 2nd Lieutenant’s gold rank bar that is held in place by two WWII plain face clutches. The brim is with reinforced stitching and no fraying along the edge. There is a small wear hole in the underside fabric on the left front side. The interior is with a green HBT fabric sweatband. There is a spec tag at the rear seam that is washed out with the only information legible being “SMALL”. It remains a nice salty looking piece in the style only used by the U.S. Marine Corps.
